Hundred Islands – Maxine by the Sea

Steamed Crab with Lemon Butter Sauce @ Maxine by the Sea – PHP 1,100 per Kilo. ($US 24.00)
After our adventure to the Hundred Islands we decided to treat ourselves to a feast at the best restaurant in Lucap Alaminos – Maxine by the Sea! Having eaten there the night before, it only made sense to load up before our journey back to Makati.
We started off with good old San Miguel to cool off from the heat against the backdrop of the Hundred Islands.

Kelawen Talaba – Fresh Shelled Oysters “cooked” in vinegar and calamansi topped with onions, ginger and red hot pepper – PHP 150.00 ($US 3.50)
For appetizers we had the fresh oysters cooked similar to a the Spanish ceviche. This definitely got our digestive fires going for our main entree – Steamed Crab!
Maxine’s did a perfect job steaming this beauty that we chose to perfection that 1 Kilo seemed “BITIN” for a piece of heaven. The meat was so juicy, sweet and succulent! Maxine by the sea gets our vote as Hundred Islands al fresco dining at its finest. How was your dining experience there?

Maxine is definitely the best restaurant in Alaminos there is nothing else that compares. Another place to go in the area is Bolinao but the beaches arent nice…

We are planning to go to hundred islands this coming August. Your website gave me a lot of information about hundred islands. Have you heard about Hundred Island Hotel supposedly close to Lucap Wharf? What do you think about it compared to the hotel you stayed? Any place we can park our car securely? Thanks.
Hello Marilou!
We have seen the Hundred Islands Hotel and it is located close to Lucap Wharf, but from all the hotels within the Wharf area, the Vista De Las Islas Hotel was the most promising for the price. As you may have gathered, there is not much development within the area so given the choices, the Vista De Las Islas shines. What we liked about the Vista De Las Islas is that they also offered gated secure parking within the hotel grounds and it is also just a short walk away from Maxine by the Sea Restaurant. We have provided contact information on our site to facilitate your booking. Look forward to you telling us about your trip!
maxine’s website is up! http://www.maxinebythesea.com. They have downloadable location map and room rates. its vey neat. you should check it out!
Hi Winston, thanks for the update on Maxine by the Sea, we are sure this will be useful to our readers!
Hi, do we have to make early reservation if we wanted to eat at Maxine by the Sea after the Hundred Island tour?
Hi April, there is no harm in making an early reservation to book a specific table, better safe than sorry. While we were there off season it was not that crowded so there was no need. Hope you enjoy the food and the trip!
