hubby and i went to greenfields/paseo to look for a new place for my birthday dinner. i was craving for japanese food and i asked him that we try ryuma. it was a great dinner! service is fast and courteous, staff are friendly and helpful, food is great, and above all we couldn't believe our bill - very, very cheap considering the generous serving and it's authentic japanese food, chefs, and atmosphere.

since it was our first time there, a waitress helped us choose the dishes by explaining to us the dishes. she stayed awhile chatting us a bit about ryuma.

i told her how amazed i am that this restaurant occupied almost the whole floor, and thought the toys and decors were for sale and that i was interested to buy a bike for my kid. she said those toys were prizes to raffle for kid guests.

i noticed that they use fine stoneware and china (noritake legendary was used to serve our dishes). i commented that i can't bring my kids there for they might break the china. the waitress said not to worry because they don't charge extra for broken dishes. she also said that she broke one large platter and that she was not told to pay for it.
she added that the owners are very kind and generous.

i think they are indeed generous because i noticed a kiosk outside of the restaurant where they serve free meals for the customers' drivers! where can you find (considerate) service like that?

after a few minutes from ordering, we saw a parade of waiters/crew approaching us. it was the food we ordered!

we had seafood salad with generous helping of salmon roe, ume - assorted sashimi plate, yasai itame, grilled tofu steak, and chasu men. all these for a little more than a thousand pesos. and they don't charge for service!

by the way, ryuma also has a loyalty pass. each visit with a minimum order entitles you to one stamp. 250 stamps will win you a local trip to something like palawan and baguio. and 600 stamps will take you to asian locales.

nice di ba?

and so, i am raving about this restaurant not only because the service is courteous, food is great and the price is cheap. but more so because of the kind way they treat their employees. and you can feel how sincerely happy and proud they are.

am going back for seconds, and thirds, and fourths...
